Hey nerdos! Happy Sunday!
It’s been a bit since I did a book nook post and I chalk that up entirely to bad forethought and how absolutely lazy/busy I am on Sundays. By that, I mean Sundays are our “prepare for the week” day – groceries, garbage, making lunches, laundry. All the terrible adulting things that no one wants to do. And by the time we’re done I like to sit on my fucking ass.
That’s RIGHT. I SAID IT.
(I really should be scheduling these.)
But, today is a little bit different. My husband is away so I haven’t done any of our responsible things like usual. That means I get to make a new post instead. This will essentially just be me showing off the hard work we did in my new office/guest room which used to be my oldest stepson’s bedroom (he moved out in the spring.)
My last one of these posts I think I said I’d share the finished product with you all once we were done. It’s been put together for a little while now, and I’ve been breaking it in. Getting used to doing things at my own desk instead of in my bed on a laptop board. I feel so adult (I’m not.)
I also have some beautiful book nooks to share with you all that I’ve collected from all over the internets to get your bookworm envy flowing.
But first, the “before”:
It looks so small here, but just wait. We didn’t repaint, only touched up because I picked the colour of my stepson’s bedroom initially and I still really like it. It’s called stardew or something equally lame.
Also, please note the raccoon dog toy in the middle of the floor. Can’t even do some home reno without the little dude trying to join along in his own special way.

Happy Sunday, booknerds! R’amen to you all.
It’s been a minute since I’ve done a Booknook post. That’s mostly down to my laziness.
When Sunday rolls around we do errands, groceries and prepare for another work week. By the time we’ve done all the adulting stuff, the last thing I want to do is get on the computer and write-up a post.
I just want to chill while I still have time.
Maybe that’s a shit excuse, but it’s the truth. Listen, YOUR GIRL IS LAZY.
This past Thursday I had all the furniture for my new office/guest room delivered. So, yes, your girl is also fancy and has an office now.
Since my oldest stepkid moved out I finally have an extra room in my house with which to create a little extra personal space. I’ll be using it for the regular day-to-day business of running a household (paying bills, paying bills and paying more bills,) but it’s also going to be my space to take pictures for my #bookstagram, write-up some blog posts, and a place to go to read when I want some true peace and quiet.

Happy Sunday, nerdos!
This is Booknook Sunday – my one day to talk about home design as it relates to books and my own life.
I’ve had a long past couple of weekends with some reno projects, so I haven’t been able to post booknook decor as much as I intended to, but the good news is, we finally finished renovating our foyer/front hall closet (it only took six weeks!) and even painted the upstairs hallway. I took a queue from Dita Von Teese and went with a deep purple just like her personal library. My husband hates it but I don’t give a shit…

Holy shitballs, can you believe it’s almost May?! MAY!
It feels like just yesterday is was January Eleventy. But, it’s true what they say, the older you get the faster the time goes. It’s fucking depressing. When you’re young, summer break from school feels like it lasts forever. Now I blink, and it’s over and back to snowing again.
Hold on. I’m going to have a cry for a second.
Okay I’m back.

Happy Zombie Jesus Weekend!
Today is also April Fool’s day which seem totally appropriate to have over Easter…I’m sorry, it’s just too easy a joke to make.
Obviously, I’m not a religious person, unless you count my all-out worship of Meg Gardiner, so instead I’ll be celebrating Spring/Canadian Mud season by starting a home renovation project that’s been on my mind for months and months.
We’ll finally be converting my front hall closet from an annoying semi-functional regular closet into an open mudroom-type thing and I’m pretty excited about it.
A heads up to all you youngins who may be reading this…converting closets are the kinds of things that start to get your rocks off after you turn 30. Prepare yourself accordingly.
I’m not sure how much reading I’ll be able to get done in the middle of all this renovation stuff, but I’ve got these two books in my arsenal:
