This seems like a perfect one for me because, technically, I think I’m still in mourning over the end of the show. There might even be a little bit of trauma I’ve not yet found closure for because of how this fucking ridiculous show ended. Like, excuse me, but HOW DARE YOU Game of Thrones?
Count me among the disappointed fans.
Not because I would have hated any ending or some Freudian shit like that, but because the last three seasons were rushed AF and not nearly as dedicated to telling a full story as the first 5(ish) seasons were.
There are so many story threads that needed closure! So many other ways that character plots could have been wrapped up! You kill Cersei by dropping a few bricks on the bitch?! What is this, Wizard of OZ?
AND UMMM HELLO AZOR AHAI?????? WHERE ARE YOU?
Anyway, I can’t get into all of this without my blood pressure going up, so let’s just do the damn tag.
It’s Take Two of his book tag! This time I’ve been nominated by the lovely Emily over at A Literary Life.
My original questions remain the same – What is the criteria for this? How am I versatile? I don’t feel versatile. Most Scorpios aren’t if you believe in that, which I occasionally do.
I can solemnly swear that I am consistently stubborn and extremely picky. And the only time me and the words “laid back” are in the same sentence is when it comes to my social views. Otherwise, watch out, because I am definitely a Crabby Patty.
With that said, I do love being tagged in things so I’ll take it!
Thank the person who gave you the award.
Include a link to their blog.
Select 7 blogs/bloggers that you’ve discovered recently or regularly follow.
Nominate those 7 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.
Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.
For the record, I distinctly remember having a very difficult time coming up with facts about myself the first time around. I don’t know why, but it turns out talking about myself can be a difficult task.
So, if you’re reading along and one or two of the facts happen to be things like “I have arms” or “I wear clothes to work,” just accept these answers and move on.
I am only doing this again because Grey @ Use Your Words gave me a bonus nomination from my nomination of her. “You’re my boy, blue!”
How can I resist an opportunity to run my mouth, maybe talk some shit and avoid doing my actual job this morning? I can’t! I have almost zero self-control! It’s why I’ve started and stopped diets like a million times this year! ZERO SELF-CONTROL. So, let’s take advantage of this terrible personality trait!
Sidenote: If you’re not following Grey’s blog or Insta, you are missing out. Thoughtful reviews, personal commiserating and beautiful pictures. Get your head out of your ass and 👏check👏 her👏 out👏!
Tomorrow is Halloween! And that means #Blogoween is officially over *whomp whomp*
While I mourn one, I’m excited about the other. Specifically, I’m excited to hand out some candy so that there’s less of it in my house. Because I’ll be honest, we bought three 120 piece boxes from Costco and a lot of it is gone. I just want to come clean about that. Between myself, my husband, and our one kid still at home, we did a number on that goddamn candy.
It’s shameful and embarrassing and I had to buy another 100 pieces to make sure I don’t run out tomorrow. At least it was on sale??? #shame
Tonight, we’re going to see the new Halloween (have you seen it? did you love it?) because it’s a top 5 favourite movie series of mine. And then tomorrow we’ll watch whatever scary movies are streaming and hand out candy to all the cute little kids and the questionably-aged teenagers. Seriously, let teenagers trick-or-treat. Being an adult is hard enough and hits too soon.
But today, I’m doing Bookwyrming Thought’s quiz to find out which spoopy creature is actually my true inner animal when the moon rises.
I’m inclined to think it’s a something like an anti-social witch or a smart-ass demon, but we’ll see.
I’m like 80% sure I’m coming down with a cold, so my brain is basically sleepy mush today and I had no idea what kind of post I’d be able to write that wasn’t completely half-assed.
And honestly, I don’t want to put out half-assed stuff. I’d rather post less often with high quality (for me) stuff then post daily with shit I’m just tossing out there, hoping it sticks.
Thankfully, Dora @ Swift Coffee has given me the perfect out for today by nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award!
I have no idea what that means, but I’m grateful!
Honestly, while we’re on it, I never have any idea what most of these blogger award tags are for. Best Actor? Best Director? Worst Blowjob Scene?
What we need is some description of what these awards are far, what was the qualifying criteria? Am I to assume I’m versatile in some way? Because I can assure you, I am not. I’m a fickle, stubborn, cranky bitch who is very difficult to please and if you change plans on me last minute I’m gonna throw a fit.
I didn’t really get many things posted last week, and if you care one way or the other (hopefully you weren’t happy I was gone) I’m truly sorry (but also not really.)
Sometimes that’s how it’s going to go around here – little mini-breaks because I’m an adult and I can do what I want! Maybe next time I’ll post a Gone Fishin’ sign, though.
I don’t really have a good excuse for my inactivity other than I am really trying to get a few books read quickly so I can queue up some more reviews for this month. But also, I binged The Staircase on Netflix really hard.
Like, it was kind of pathetic how hard of a binge I did. I barely moved. My Fitbit thought I was dead.
But I’m back on it for this week! And the lovely Emily over at Wicked Good Reads is even helping me out with some content by tagging me in for this bookish questionnaire.
Is it good? Define ‘good.’ Is it content? You’re damn right it’s content!
It’s so nice to be thought of with these things. Honestly. Sometimes I feel like I’m a little bit on the outskirts of the book blogger community because I’m new and slow and old. So, thank you Greyson!
If you haven’t stumbled across her blog yet, Greyson @ Use Your Words does lots of fun and interesting posts, including book reviews, discussions on mental health and personal posts about her family that might give you some feels, or help you feel less alone in your struggles. She’s special, and you’ll like her. Because I like her, and I don’t like a lot of people.
See “the rules” for this post if you’re curious what the deal is, otherwise, here are my answers to Greyson’s questions.
My girl Greyson, over at Use Your Words, tagged me to do this original gem created by Cait @ Paper Fury, which was inspired by a couple of other blog posts. It’s colours as emotions as related to books, or something like that.
Basically it kind of seems like a booknerd version of Emotion-evoked Synesthesia. (Google it, it’s pretty cool.)
Of course, I will never experience Synesthesia because, I’ll be honest, I’m pretty dead on the inside. This tag could end up being exceptionally difficult for me, but I’ll usually try anything once – even emotions.
