This is the perfect tag for me at this moment because I’m definitely having a bit of an emotional meltdown over the fact that it’s almost July. It’s almost like I’m missing time. It went so fast!!
But honestly, books have been so important to me this year because of the state of the world. That’s 100% a fact and I don’t think I’m the only one feeling that way.
Every day is something new. Every day Donald Trump makes it worse. I’m surprised I haven’t pulled out all my hair, that I can make it to work every day instead of just rocking in a corner drooling on myself. Today a co-worker said to me, “Like I get the whole pride parade thing, but what about me? Why am I not celebrated?”
Guys, it took every last ounce of self control I had to not throat punch her, just dead centre in her larynx. I’m so ON EDGE ALL THE TIME.
My official response was: “Because being straight is not discriminated against. Look up Stonewall if you want to know the history. But, it would be like the 1% having a Rich Pride Parade. It’s not necessary. We’re already privileged. It’s bad taste. You want a parade? Join a women’s march.”
That was an hour ago and I am still stewing over it and I still want to throat punch someone.

I didn’t really get many things posted last week, and if you care at all, one way or the other (hopefully you weren’t happy I was gone) I’m truly sorry (but also not really.)
Sometimes that’s how it’s going to go around here – little mini-breaks because I’m an adult and I can do what I want! Maybe next time I’ll post a Gone Fishin’ sign, though.
I don’t really have a good excuse for my inactivity other than I am really trying to get a few books read quickly so I can queue up some more reviews for this month. But also, I binged The Staircase on Netflix really hard.
Like, it was kind of pathetic how hard of a binge I did. I barely moved. My Fitbit thought I was sleeping for 14 hours. No joke.
But I’m back on it for this week! And the lovely Emily over at Wicked Good Reads is even helping me out with some content by tagging me in for this bookish questionnaire.
Is it good? Define ‘good.’ Is it content? You’re damn right it’s content!

You know what, it’s so nice to be thought of with these things. Sometimes I feel like I’m a little bit on the outskirts of the book blogger community because I’m new and slow and old. So, thanks, G!
If you haven’t stumbled across her blog yet, Greyson @ Use Your Words does lots of fun and interesting posts, including book reviews, discussions on mental health and personal posts about her family that might give you some feels, or help you feel less alone in your struggles. She’s special, and you’ll like her. Because I like her, and I don’t like a lot of people.
So this is the deal:
And these are my questions from Greyson:

My girl Greyson, over at Greyson Reads, tagged me to do this original gem created by Cait @ Paper Fury, which was inspired by a couple of G’s other blog posts. It’s colours as emotions as related to books.
It’s like our very own booknerd version of Emotion-evoked Synesthesia. (Google it, it’s pretty cool.)
Of course, I will never experience Synesthesia because, I’ll be honest, I’m pretty dead on the inside. This tag could end up being exceptionally difficult for me, but I’ll usually try anything once – even emotions.

Bonus for me: I’ve got Monday off work. I’m determined to make this weekend super productive for reading! It’s top priority.
I’d say last night was pretty productive for reading, as well, because I literally had no other choice. When I got home from work around 5PM, the power was out at my house, as well as 223 other houses. And we didn’t get electricity back until this morning! Joy-of-fucking-joys!
I felt like an Amish person – lighting candles, walking around in the dark, crying that we have no Wi-Fi (Amish people cry about that, right?)
As expressed by my 14-year-old stepkid: “I want to look at memes! This sucks!”
I hear you, junior.

I came across this Currently Reading book tag somewhere and it looked fun. I can’t remember where I saw it, and I’m too lazy to find out. I’m just being honest. Laziness is a terrible motivator that I am flush with. I don’t live in an apartment that smells of rich mahogany though…
Let’s play, shall we?!

I feel like this is a bit of a Rorschach Test for us Booknerds. Answer fast with the first thing that comes to mind!
This could be dangerous for me – you never know where my mind will land. Could be stupid, could be unexpectedly erotic, could be inappropriate. Just prepare yourselves.
I, too, am dressed as Khaleesi while writing this. I’m the Mother of Furdragons, after all.
Allow us tat jin! (That’s Dothraki for “let’s do this”…)

Hey Nerds! I’ve got a review I should be writing, but this seemed like more fun because goddamnit I read another Patterson novel and I don’t know why I do that to myself!
I knowwwww so many people like him, but I think he’s truly shit and we are now arch nemeses.
So, let’s do this first before I unleash my reader-anger onto that overproducing book machine. (These questions came from somewhere floating around on Goodreads.)

I haven’t done one of these in a while…and it figures the first one I’m going to do has literally nothing to do with books!
I’m just contrary that way, I suppose.
So, really this is just a quick tag to talk about myself. Do I like to get high and watch Scooby Doo? Yes! Do I know how to immigrate someone into Canada? Yes, again!
I have so many layers. My plot thickens…
Ugh, no. Forget I said that. Just read on for a few tidbits about me and forget about my pot or how thick it is.
Continue reading “Book Tag: Anything But Books!”
My Australian book buddy Greyson Reads tagged me for this one. She said I was “lovely and hilarious”, and obviously flattery works really well on me! Thanks, G!
There are some rules…
- Thank the person who nominated you for the award (well, duh.)
- Display the banner/sticker/logo on your blog. (sure!)
- Share 7 facts or things about yourself. (are there 7 facts about me? *thinks hard*)
- Nominate up to 15 bloggers that you admire and inform the nominees (absolutely not.)
Ok, here we go. Don’t get weirded out and leave me once you know me better.
