Thank Jeebus for Bridget over at Bridget and Books for tagging me in to do this round of Book Tag, because I haven’t done one in a couple of months and I think I’m literally starting to have withdrawals.
So, here’s the scoop: This tag was originally created by The Book Nut. All you do is give a book answer and a song answer for the different prompts. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy, and certainly not difficult difficult lemon difficult.
I’ll do my tagging now so you don’t have scroll through my answers if you don’t want to read them. I know I can get a little…in depth (why do you hate me?)
Eleni @ La Femme Readers, Brandy @ B’s Book Blog, Carolina @ Third Person Limited, and Alyssa @ Just Another Book on the Shelf. Let’s see what you got, booknerds!
Okay, now let’s get onto the important stuff…

Another Liebster Award coming my way! I’m starting to feel like Sally Field, “You like me! You really like me!”
Maybe that reference is a bit too dated for some of you.
Either way, I like this book tag because even though it’s the same “award”, the nominator is asking brand new questions with each new nomination. So I always get to run my mouth in new and exciting ways!
And that is half the joy of writing this blog for me. Where else am I going to be able to scream into the abyss of the internet with my bookish thoughts and not get annoying?
My girl, Zuky the Bookbum has nominated me this time. Honestly, her book blog is my favourite and I want to be just like her when I grow up.
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and link to their post
- Answer the 11 questions they asked you
- Nominate 11 other bloggers, with your own set of questions
- Tag your chosen 11 bloggers, and don’t forget to tell them as well!

I feel like I just did one of these? But who’s complaining? I’m not! I love that anyone would think of me ever.
Thank you to Anne Marie for nominating me! Anne runs a blog dedicated to all her writing! If you like fantasy, I say check out her stuff. One day you could say, “I knew her when…”
Onto the award thing-y-ma-bob!
- Link to Global Aussie’s Award blog post and put the official Liebster Award stamp on your blog.
- Acknowledge and link to the blogger who nominated you.
- Answer the 11 questions your nominator asked.
Nominate 11 more bloggers and spread the ‘new blogger’ love.
Ask them 11 fun questions of your own.

What better way to get a little pick me up on Monday than to
do some drugs find out you’ve been nominated for The Blogger Recognition Award!
Thank you to Emily over at A Literary Life for thinking of me! Emily and I are relatively new to knowing each other, but trust me when I say you will love her blog. Poetry, writing prompts, reviews and short stories, and probably some hidden gems I haven’t even noticed yet. It has everything you could possibly want from a book blog!
So, I guess there are some rules and stuff for this award…
- Thank the blogger who nominated you.
- Write a post to show your award.
- Give a brief story about how your blog started.
- Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
- Select 15 other bloggers for this award.
Number one, check. Number two… Um, not entirely sure of the context. Is just creating a blog post good enough? Really? Doesn’t that kind of seem like a redundant requirement if you’re going to follow the rest of the rules? I digress…

I like the idea of this tag because I function from honesty always….but also because it reminds me of being on MySpace in the early 2000s. #emo
If you are familiar with my reviews or general things I write around here, it’s not going to come as a surprise to you that I can be very straightforward with my opinions and thoughts. And in the spirit of my honest principle (different from the pleasure principle) I’m going to be straight with you: This tag is lonnnggggg.
And it will only be interesting to you, if you a) want to know more about me to better stalk me via the internet, or b) think I’m funny and want to see what crazy shit comes out of my mouth.
I’ll try to keep my answers short and
bitter sweet so it doesn’t take you as long to read as it did for me to write it.
For the record: this tag was originally created by Debbie @ My Random Musings and I picked it up from Greyson over at Use Your Words.

This is the perfect tag for me at this moment because I’m definitely having a bit of an emotional meltdown over the fact that it’s almost July. It’s almost like I’m missing time. It went so fast!!
But honestly, books have been so important to me this year because of the state of the world. That’s 100% a fact and I don’t think I’m the only one feeling that way.
Every day is something new. Every day Donald Trump makes it worse. I’m surprised I haven’t pulled out all my hair, that I can make it to work every day instead of just rocking in a corner drooling on myself. Today a co-worker said to me, “Like I get the whole pride parade thing, but what about me? Why am I not celebrated?”
Guys, it took every last ounce of self control I had to not throat punch her, just dead centre in her larynx. I’m so ON EDGE ALL THE TIME.
My official response was: “Because being straight is not discriminated against. Look up Stonewall if you want to know the history. But, it would be like the 1% having a Rich Pride Parade. It’s not necessary. We’re already privileged. It’s bad taste. You want a parade? Join a women’s march.”
That was an hour ago and I am still stewing over it and I still want to throat punch someone.
I don’t know how to relax anymore if I’m not reading. Books are my safe haven.

I didn’t really get many things posted last week, and if you care at all, one way or the other (hopefully you weren’t happy I was gone) I’m truly sorry (but also not really.)
Sometimes that’s how it’s going to go around here – little mini breaks because I’m an adult and I can do what I want! Maybe next time I’ll post a Gone Fishin’ sign, though.
I don’t really have a good excuse for my inactivity other than I am really trying to get a few books read quickly so I can queue up some more reviews for this month. But also, I binged The Staircase on Netflix really hard.
Like, it was kind of pathetic how hard of a binge I did. I barely moved. My Fitbit thought I was sleeping for 14 hours. No joke.
But I’m back on it for this week! And the lovely Emily over at Wicked Good Reads is even helping me out with some content by tagging me in for this bookish questionnaire.
Is it good? Define ‘good.’ Is it content? You’re damn right it’s content!

You know what, it’s so nice to be thought of with these things. Sometimes I feel like I’m a little bit on the outskirts of the book blogger community because I’m new and slow and old. So, thanks, G!
If you haven’t stumbled across her blog yet, Greyson @ Use Your Words does lots of fun and interesting posts, including book reviews, discussions on mental health and personal posts about her family that might give you some feels, or help you feel less alone in your struggles. She’s special, and you’ll like her. Because I like her, and I don’t like a lot of people.
So this is the deal:
And these are my questions from Greyson:

My girl Greyson, over at Greyson Reads, tagged me to do this original gem created by Cait @ Paper Fury, which was inspired by a couple of G’s other blog posts. It’s colours as emotions as related to books.
It’s like our very own booknerd version of Emotion-evoked Synesthesia. (Google it, it’s pretty cool.)
Of course, I will never experience Synesthesia because, I’ll be honest, I’m pretty dead on the inside. This tag could end up being exceptionally difficult for me, but I’ll usually try anything once – even emotions.

Bonus for me: I’ve got Monday off work. I’m determined to make this weekend super productive for reading! It’s top priority.
I’d say last night was pretty productive for reading, as well, because I literally had no other choice. When I got home from work around 5PM, the power was out at my house, as well at 223 other houses. And we didn’t get electricity back until this morning! Joy-of-fucking-joys!
I felt like an Amish person – lighting candles, walking around in the dark, crying that we have no Wi-Fi (Amish people cry about that, right?)
As expressed by my 14-year-old stepkid: “I want to look at memes! This sucks!”
I hear you, junior.
