This seems like a perfect one for me because, technically, I think I’m still in mourning over the end of the show. There might even be a little bit of trauma I’ve not yet found closure for because of how this fucking ridiculous show ended. Like, excuse me, but HOW DARE YOU Game of Thrones?
Count me among the disappointed fans.
Not because I would have hated any ending or some Freudian shit like that, but because the last three seasons were rushed AF and not nearly as dedicated to telling a full story as the first 5(ish) seasons were.
There are so many story threads that needed closure! So many other ways that character plots could have been wrapped up? You kill Cersei by dropping a few bricks on the bitch?! What is this, Wizard of OZ?
AND UMMM HELLO AZOR AHAI?????? WHERE ARE YOU?
Anyway, I can’t get into all of this without my blood pressure going up, so let’s just do the damn tag.
It’s Take Two of his book tag! This time I’ve been nominated by the lovely Emily over at A Literary Life.
My original questions remain the same – What is the criteria for this? How am I versatile? I don’t feel versatile. Most Scorpios aren’t if you believe in that kind of gobbly-goop. Which I occasionally do when it’s hilarious and on the nose.
I can solemnly swear that I am consistently stubborn and extremely picky. And the only time me and the words “laid back” are in the same sentence is when it comes to my social views. Otherwise, watch out, because I am definitely a Crabby Patty.
With that said, I do love being tagged in things so I’ll take it!
Thank the person who gave you the award.
Include a link to their blog.
Select 7 blogs/bloggers that you’ve discovered recently or regularly follow.
Nominate those 7 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.
Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.
For the record, I distinctly remember having a very difficult time coming up with facts about myself the first time around. I don’t know why, but it turns out talking about myself can be a difficult task.
So, if you’re reading along and one or two of the facts happen to be things like “I have arms” or “I wear clothes to work,” just accept these answers and move on.
I’ll be accepting this award tag from Sam @ Fictionally Sam with relish. Thank you for thinking of me, Sam!
This might be my favourite “honour” so far because a large part of the joy I get from doing this blog is that I get to release the mouthy, witty bitch who is only known by those closest to me. Believe it or not, I’m actually a shy introvert who takes a very long time to open up in person.
But deep down, what you read on this blog, and the personality you hopefully pick up on in my words, is who I am.
There is something about writing that makes the truest part of me flow so easily. Getting to express that – to write and be myself at the same time – satisfies some serious self-care, self-expression that are needs essential to my mental health.
Hello, I am strictly here for internet validation.
I’m here because I love reading, I love writing, I love talking books and I love being creative. So, the fact that anyone reads what I’m doing here at all, I’m so flattered by. But that you would also think, “I like her, she’s entertaining,” is such a sweet extra, and I’m so grateful.
And now that I’ve written a bunch of shit that will make new readers think, “she’s actually not entertaining at all though?” On to the award!
I am only doing this again because Grey @ Use Your Words gave me a bonus nomination from my nomination of her. “You’re my boy, blue!”
How can I resist an opportunity to run my mouth, maybe talk some shit and avoid doing my actual job this morning? I can’t! I have almost zero self-control! It’s why I’ve started and stopped diets like a million times this year! ZERO SELF-CONTROL. So, let’s take advantage of this terrible personality trait!
Sidenote: If you’re not following Grey’s blog or Insta, you are missing out. Thoughtful reviews, personal commiserating and beautiful pictures. Get your head out of your ass and 👏check👏 her👏 out👏
Tomorrow is Halloween! And that means Blogoween is officially over *whomp whomp*
While I mourn one, I’m excited about the other. Specifically, I’m excited to hand out some candy so that there’s less of it in my house. Because I’ll be honest, we bought three 120 piece boxes from Costco, and a lot of it is gone. I just want to come clean about that. Between myself, my husband and the one kid still at home we did a number on that goddamn candy.
It’s shameful and embarrassing and I had to buy another 100 pieces to make sure I don’t run out tomorrow. At least it was on sale??? #shame
Tonight, we’re going to see the new Halloween (have you seen it? did you love it?) because it’s a top 5 favourite movie series of mine. And then tomorrow we’ll watch whatever scary movies are streaming and hand out candy to all the cute little kids and the questionably-aged teenagers.
But today, I’m doing Bookwyrming Thought’s quiz to find out which spoopy creature is actually my spirit animal when the moon rises.
I’m inclined to think it’s a something like an anti-social witch or a smart-ass demon, but we’ll see.
I’m like 80% sure I’m coming down with a cold, so my brain is basically sleepy mush today and I had no idea what kind of post I’d be able to write that wasn’t completely half-assed.
And honestly, I don’t want to put out half-assed stuff. I’d rather post less often with high quality (for me) stuff then post daily with shit I’m just tossing out there, hoping it sticks.
Thankfully, Dora @ Swift Coffee has given me the perfect out for today by nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award!
I have no idea what that means, but I’m grateful!
Honestly, while we’re on it, I never have any idea what most of these blogger award tags are for. Best Actor? Best Director? Worst Blowjob Scene?
What we need is some description of what these awards are far, what was the qualifying criteria? Am I to assume I’m versatile in some way? Because I can assure you, I am not. I’m a fickle, stubborn, cranky bitch who is very difficult to please and if you change plans on me last minute I’m gonna throw a fit.
Thank Jeebus for Bridget over at Bridget and Books for tagging me in to do this round of Book Tag, because I haven’t done one in a couple of months and I think I’m literally starting to have withdrawals.
So, here’s the scoop: This tag was originally created by The Book Nut. All you do is give a book answer and a song answer for the different prompts. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy, and certainly not difficult difficult lemon difficult.
I’ll do my tagging now so you don’t have scroll through my answers if you don’t want to read them. I know I can get a little…in depth (why do you hate me?)
Another Liebster Award coming my way! I’m starting to feel like Sally Field, “You like me! You really like me!“
Maybe that reference is a bit too dated for some of you.
Either way, I like this book tag because even though it’s the same “award”, the nominator is asking brand new questions with each new nomination. So I always get to run my mouth in new and exciting ways!
And that is half the joy of writing this blog for me. Where else am I going to be able to scream into the abyss of the internet with my bookish thoughts and not be annoying?
My girl, Zuky the Bookbum has nominated me this time. Honestly, her book blog is my favourite and I want to be just like her when I grow up.
Thank the blogger who nominated you and link to their post
Answer the 11 questions they asked you
Nominate 11 other bloggers, with your own set of questions
Tag your chosen 11 bloggers, and don’t forget to tell them as well!
What better way to get a little pick me up on Monday than to do some drugs find out you’ve been nominated for The Blogger Recognition Award!
Thank you to Emily over at A Literary Life for thinking of me! Emily and I are relatively new to knowing each other, but trust me when I say you will love her blog. Poetry, writing prompts, reviews and short stories, and probably some hidden gems I haven’t even noticed yet. It has everything you could possibly want from a book blog!
So, I guess there are some rules and stuff for this award…
