🔪QUESTIONS (from Anne Marie)
What has been the hardest struggle to overcome to keep on blogging?
Well, I’ve only been doing this for a few months, so I haven’t really experienced any “struggles” with it per se. In general, it can be time-consuming. I have a husband, pets, a full-time job, hobbies, renovations and stepkids that all require my time and energy. Not to mention, self-care. So, there have been times where I don’t post anything for a week because I just can’t find the space to dedicate to creating new content.
I try not to feel bad about it though, because I am just here for fun. And once it stops being fun and starts feeling like pressure, I think that’s where I’ll run into trouble. If I can’t post, I can’t. #sorrynotsorry
What’s your favourite music to listen to while writing or reading or whatever other activity you do?
I come from the age of Myspace and emo music. I went to Warped Tour every year and still wear my checkered Vans. I have emo song lyrics literally tattooed on my body. So when it comes down to it emo/punk/rock owns my heart. Always has and always will. It’s just what sticks during one of the more developmental stages in your life. You won’t find a playlist I’ve created lacking any Fall Out Boy or My Chemical Romance or Acceptance. FOB Boardies, whattup!?
But, my husband will attest that if you hit shuffle on my iPod you are going to hear a wide array of music. If a song moves me, I attach to it. One minute there is some Protest the Hero or Dead and Divine playing, the next song might be Paramore, then the next will be Childish Gambino or Christina Aguilera, and after that might be classic Bon Jovi or Elton John.
I am not one to discriminate when it comes to music.
Do you plan your blogs in advance and schedule their release or just blog by the seat of your pants? Or a combo?
I try to do both, especially over the weekend. I don’t really get to sit down and blog on the weekends, so I will set up some scheduled posts for Saturday and Sunday. But mostly this blog is all about writing about what I read, so there’s not much I can schedule if I’m not done reading something.
It’s nice to have featured regular posts that I can work with. That make things a little bit easier.
Having a familiar gives you magical powers, but the only one available is a spider. This is your only chance! Do you accept your familiar and the magic it gives you or light a match and run away? (No, you can’t transform it into another animal. It must remain a spider. Nice try though!)
Okay, I don’t read fantasy, so I’m a little bit fuzzy on what I’m actually being asked here. I feel like my mom trying to figure out how to post something on Facebook.
Like, what kind of powers does the spider give me? If it’s something specific it’s got to be better than the ability to grow my nails faster than normal. If it’s all the magical powers ever, than for sure. Come here, little buddy!
It’s not that I “like” spiders, but they don’t scare me either. I’m more scared of the things that can fly because you never know where their buzzing asses are going next. In your hair? In your drink? To sting your tit?
Spiders are pretty much relegated to whatever surface they are on. They just be chillin’.
What food could you eat all day, every day and never get sick?
Technically speaking, if I only eat one food all day, every day, eventually my body would get sick from the lack of diverse nutrients. Just ask that girl who ate nothing by chicken McNuggets.
But in the spirit of the question’s intent, probably chips. I am a salt monster.
What TV show could you binge watch over and over?
What’s the one blog post you are most proud of?
Literally none of them. I am a giant clown with a potty mouth and strong opinions that hurt feelings. Stay away.
Have you ever played a song on repeat so many times you got sick of it? If so, what song?
For sure! When I was in college, music was the only way to pull an all-nighter writing a paper or studying for an exam. It would get to the point that I would need to take months-long breaks from certain albums because it would almost give me a little PTSD flashback listening to them.
But I don’t remember specific songs. It’s all a blur or caffeine and textbooks and tears.
If your home was on fire and you could only save one book, which would it be?
What’s your favourite water sport? To play and/or watch.
I do not play sports. I was not a human being designed for physical activity. Brain activity is my forte. It doesn’t require me to hold my breasts down.
But I love watching hockey (ice is water!) Go leafs go!
What book do you wish you never read?
I’m happy to have read everything I have, whether it was terrible or not. Everything I read expands my base of knowledge for writing and English and storytelling, and gives me new reasons to rant and swear. I’ll take it all!
And that’s it for the Leibster Award!
I’m not going to be doing rules 4 and 5, because like I said at the top, I’ve just done something like this before and I would just be nominating all the same people all over again.
